it was kinda appropriate that it was all rainy and overcast all day yesterday. my day was very...blah. i guess that's better than sucking, but not by much to me.
so excited!
my big first day was oh-so-thrilling, filled almost completely with nothing but waiting. my first 3 classes did nothing but hand out the syllabus and talk for about 20 minutes, but of course the last class of the day the professor expects us to
learn things. what the fuck was he thinking?
so since i'm going to a school that's a good 30-45 minute drive from my home (and i drive a gas hog) i was stuck on campus all day. i had to kill 4 1/2 hrs between my 2nd & 3rd classes. i couldn't log into the campus computers (i had my login name switched around! oops!) to browse the internet. i couldn't listen to the iPod while on campus bc i need to buy headphones that don't interfere with the 'hawk (and i hate earbuds. i need to get some of the neckband type). so i sat around and read "In Cold Blood" by Truman Capote while sitting in the library. which is fine, but all i could think about was how much i wished it was the next class already, which seriously hampered my enjoyment of the book thus far.
i seriously need a lappy. you should buy me one. haha.
man, i hope this campus's library is decent. i need to browse the catalog some. the last campus i went to's library was full of much fail. only thing it was good for was borrowing books from other libraries to use. lol.
i don't think i'll hate any of my classes. woo-hoo! and it think that my hardest class is going to be one of my art class, which makes me very happy. if i'm going to be challenged, i'd like for it to be used towards using a skill need for my degree and possibly my career. and not rocks. i was soo worried about my Geology class, but the professor seems like he'll be a good teacher and not overwhelmingly dry. he's aware of how dry the topic is but his lecture style is not bad at all, from what i can tell. also, he's very conscious that most the ppl in the class are NOT science majors. which i love science, but i hate math (anything above pre-cal frightens me) so it can be challenging for me.
we did a small, easy group project which i had to lead the other people through. i hate group projects. i'd rather do it myself than for others, which is what always happens. seriously, he just gave us the formula for density, you have aalllll the data, and you STILL can't get it? *bangs head on desk*
i've got the day off, so i think i'm going to caffeinate myself and try and get some things done. i've got to clean, buy textbooks (BOO!), go shopping for supplies, edit and post pics from the Aesop Rock show and visiting one of my bestest friends. so glad i'm off until this sunday! aaaaaaaaand tonight i get to see a good friend of mine who now lives far, far away.
