WOOD COUNTY (WAOW) -- Police identify the second missing man who disappeared from Wisconsin Rapids early Tuesday morning.
Newsline 9 has learned the names of both men, but chooses not to release them due to the nature of this case.
The 21-year-old, awoke hanging up in the garage, according to a probable cause affidavit.
The 21-year-old man reported that he was at a bar, passed out in his car and woke up chained, locked and naked in the garage.
The 21-year-old then escaped from the garage and went to a neighbor's home, where police were notified.
Once police went to the 52nd Street home in the town of Saratoga, they found a 23-year-old man, who was reported missing late Friday night.
The 23-year-old went missing after watching fireworks with friends.
The 23-year-old was chained to the floor in the house. According to the affidavit, the 23-year-old says he was walking home when he got into a vehicle while looking for a ride home. The man pulled over and said he was a police officer, then handcuffed him and knocked him unconscious with a flashlight.
The affidavit also says that the 23-year-old woke up chained to the basement floor of the house and was sexually assaulted. The chains holding the 23-year-old were connected to a string and tied to a shotgun, making it life-threatening for him to move, according to the affidavit.
Edward Lanphear, 46, is being held on a $1 million cash bond in connection to the case. The affidavit shows that Lanphear says he knew that what he was doing at the time was wrong.
Additionally, the 21-year-old says he knew Lanphear because they frequented the same bar, according to the affidavit.
A joint press conference will be held sometime this afternoon or tomorrow.
