Then we can nail down a date. It will be held on a Saturday for sure. We have a few bands lined up. Arnocorps and a KISS tribute band that actually opened for KISS themselves have agreed to play. Plus we have a few DJs lined up hopefully. Coop has also agreed to donate some art and we're looking for a benefit to donate the proceeds to. Stitch is also going to be coordinating the suspension show so that should be amazing. If anyone has any suggestions for additional acts or would like to donate anything, let me know. I will keep everyone posted in this thread. Hope everyone can make it! If it goes well, we will hopefully be making it an annual event. (a) you said "nailed" a lot. (b) in light of the fact that this is San Francisco and this is ostensibly a fund raiser for AIDS (or has this changed since we last talked), I think we should go for a pansexual approach. As in the troupe "Boylesque" male burlesque dancers that are not the silly tanned and oiled buffed men, but actually good male burlesque. This would go well with burlesque that is probably going to happen. If not "boylesque" then perhaps a drag queen or king show. (c) I produced a concert a while back and had an artist friend paint a mural on a huge piece of butcher paper throughout the night, a lot of people enjoyed that, although this depends on whether or not we'd get a venue that had an outdoors area. (d) perhaps a BDSM play area? (e) when my finals are over Satan and I will rampage the San Francisco for a wicked pissah badass venue (f) chu guys are rock awesome!!11one
(a) (b) It doesn't have to be AIDS per se. Just seemed to be a good start considering what genre we are in. If you could research other organizations that would be interested in being donated to, that would be awesome. (b)(1) I personally would rather have a more traditional burlesque but a drag queen show might be kinda fun. (c) That would be awesome. Would your artist friend be interested? (d) Maybe . . . if it was a private area as not to offend some that might not want to see that sort of thing. (e) I think I already found a place. P/M for details . . .
All very good ideas man. Thank you! |

I've always liked the classy sexiness of burlesque. I boylesque group in addition might be a great idea. I'm sure there's got to be some coed troops out there. If not, there should be. Dudes can be sexy too. Not me, but some of them. I mean, I've heard rumors.
There are a lot of brilliant charities and research groups that would match up well with DN. I think AIDS is a great start, but there are so many different foundations out there, that finding a great match may take a bit of research. |
