(a) you said "nailed" a lot.
(b) in light of the fact that this is San Francisco and this is ostensibly a fund raiser for AIDS (or has this changed since we last talked), I think we should go for a pansexual approach. As in the troupe "Boylesque" male burlesque dancers that are not the silly tanned and oiled buffed men, but actually good male burlesque. This would go well with burlesque that is probably going to happen. If not "boylesque" then perhaps a drag queen or king show.
(c) I produced a concert a while back and had an artist friend paint a mural on a huge piece of butcher paper throughout the night, a lot of people enjoyed that, although this depends on whether or not we'd get a venue that had an outdoors area.
(d) perhaps a BDSM play area?
(e) when my finals are over Satan and I will rampage the San Francisco for a wicked pissah badass venue

Other people's opinions on this sort of thing generally differ quite a bit from my own, so you may want to take a popularity poll on it. One, my social skills are seriously atrocious, and 2, I've been tainted by other similar events on the pink site. I generally find that sex-themed events become a place for supposedly "empowered, sex-positive" models to try to outdo each other with the amount of nudity for attention factor, which makes it generally uncomfortable for everyone, as then you have the prudish ones (like myself) standing away from the action looking disgusted at the attention whorishness of others haha. You have a division of females and a general cattiness going around. Organizing this type of thing is just a nightmare, in my opinion, so good luck to all of you haha.
If you guys decide to go with a sex-themed event like the carnival, I would suggest disclosing all aspects of the event as thoroughly as possible so that folks that have my mindset, just not as vocal, know what they are getting into and can decide whether or not they want to put themselves into that type of situation. I went to plenty of pink events that started off as a fun "getting to know you" get together, and you get there and SURPRISE! GROPE FEST!! UNCOMFORTABLE SITUATION!!!! MODELS MAKING OUT WITH OTHER MODELS FOR ATTENTION!! WHO CAN BE NAKED THE LONGEST AND NOT GET ARRESTED CONTEST!!! PLEASE LOOK AT MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
I definitely understand that this is a porn site. That kind of party is what a member base expects and a lot of the time wants. It would certainly bring in more attendees, hence more exposure for DN. We are an erotic website. As such, my opinion is probably not the popular one and shouldn't be taken into account unless other members feel the same way or the whatnot. Just trying to show a flip side of the coin. |

Oh I completely understand. And really these are just my ideas, its Satan and Gwindylyn's partay. For example, I totally understand why boylesque or a drag show wouldn't work since they don't go hand in hand with DN, heh.
But ya, I've been to play parties where it was just a little too much. I was also thinking more of a private or semi private play area. Like I said, just my own idears, heh.

None of our get togethers have been ANYTHING like other site get togethers so you have nothing to worry about. And if some sort of BDSM thing were to happen [which I'm not even sure it would], that would definitely be in a private area so as not offend others not interested. Don't worry . . . this will NOT be a sex themed party. AT ALL. It will be an event to celebrate the deviance in us all in many different areas.
And I also thing a masquerade ball would be kinda fun. Purple themed of course.
