Having the DN event October 26th instead of the 25th...which is a Sunday.

Gwindylyn mentioned it in the other thread, but haven't heard to many responses back about it. We are just curious to see if having it on a Sunday would affect anyone being able to come or not. So speak up now or forever hold your peace!!!

the only thing I think it would affect would be those working on the Monday, which might affect more local members only. Those travelling would realistically take Monday off anyway to travel home I'm thinking.

I guess it would be doable but I would hate to have the event and have to try to fly out just hours after it ends. We would have to head home on Monday for sure.

I am driving down. So I will be in the city playing all day saturday. and drive back monday. So it works well for me and Bear. Maybe some kids could meet up saturday and we can enjoy the city? Bear has never seen San Fran before...

Until something happens closer to me, I'll be missing out on most events.

I'm having a DN event in my pants, and you're all invited.

A Sunday event is fine by me. I would expect anyone who has to travel will need to take some extra days off anyways. Not being warned well in advance is my only bugaboo. The longer it takes to firm up the date, the more money it's likely to cost me to travel.

Let's set a date and let people plan their work schedules and travel, please?

October 25th is my birthday.

That would be the most awesome birthday event ever.

I want to come this time.

Considering how far in advance the date is posted, I know I'd be able to work out babysitting junk and such no matter what the day. I'll just have to be sure not to register for any Monday classes so I'm not missing class.

Everyone is doing their best to try and make sure that everyone is happy and also everyone gets to come. Not to mention the people throwing this event are having a hard enough time doing said things and making the event happen at all. So a little patience on everyones part, while the little quarks are worked out would be really appreciated.

I don't mean to be inpatient, but honestly, how long has this event been in the planning stages? Delays cost people money, and might cause some people not to be able to attend as well. It works both ways.

I've only been *seriously* planning it for a little over a week. Everything before that has been just talk. And honestly, to give more than six months advance notice of an event like this is pretty damn good in my opinion. I've got people coming from all over the world and I know the sooner I get a date finalized, the better so that everyone can plan. The original date was booked so I've been scrambling to get another one but it's not going good. Sunday is a huge commitment since lots of prople don't go out on Sundays so we're trying not to pick a date that we LOSE money on. I'm doing the best I can with what I'm working with. Please bear with me. I know I'm under a crunch.

Thanks for the full explanation and background. It's difficult to know what is going on behind the scenes if it's not posted. Best of luck with your plans.

What's DN?

Sunday works for me. It's not like I have Church or anything.
