Kamelot had just taken Epica out as special guests last fall and they did well in certain cities...New York, L.A. (same ol' same ol') but in the smaller places and in seattle, Portland, Vancouver BC they did not sell as well as expected (could be because the radio is still playing Nirvana, Soundgarden, STP?)

So they have decided to play it safe and go only where it is lucrative for now.

It really sucks for those of us that like them.

Now, Dragonforce is playing here again and each time they do (4 times so far) they get more fans. Last show was sold out and tickets were in demand. They don't mind coming from Europe (where they play 50,000 and above seaters) and playing smaller venues in the states. Hopefully, more bands will start doing that...or Dragonforce will bring them as openers or special guests.

Dragonforce being on Ozzfest last summer probably helped their US status a lot.

Another babd I forgot to mention was the Norwegian band Trail Of Tears. They had a mezzo-saprano vocalist (ala Epica), Helena Michaelsen (who left theband to start her own band "Imperia" and a solo project called "Angel".

Trail of Tears has a new vocalist, Catherine Paulsen, who is also a soprano.

Good band.
