Mike Patton is genious. He's worked with so many people too.

I love the song "My ass is on fire," and I always have to sing along to it when I hear it.
It's great because my boyfriend's dad is a huge Patton/Faith no more fan, so he plays him all the time.

My favorite project is definetly Mr. Bungle as well.

Oh, I certainly know. But there's a Patton album for every mood:

Happy: King For A Day...

Sad: Romances

Horny: Songs To Makes Love To Your Old Lady By

Wanting To Piss Off Your Neighbors: Adult Themes For Voice

I'm a simple man and I only have four emotions.

im listening to bungle's california right now & just finished the self titled. ive been on a patton kick for about the past week (meaning its two or three times a day i listen instead of slightly less). i cant get enough of the guy. i cant pick a favorite album or band of his but lovage & bungle are probably what i would go with if i had to. dan the automator is also a favorite of mine so that was a great match for me.
as far as collaborations go...somebody else said tom waits and i nearly shit myself. i have no idea what that would sound like but i can guarantee it would be my favorite album for the rest of my life.

I love all of his shit so much, he's one of the few artists out there who can do no wrong to me. Everytime he guests on someone elses album, that song is always one of the best songs on the thing. He's got one of the most perfect voices in music.
My personal favorite project of his is Fantomas, partially just because the amount of talent in the band is enough to destroy small countries.
My favorite album he's ever done would have to be the live album the Fantomas Melvins Big Band did.
Unfortunately, I've only been able to see him play with Tomahawk and Fantomas, I wish I could've seen FNM and Bungle

I've said it before... the only thing he's done that I don't like is quitting mr. bungle. I even found myself making up grandiose artistic excuses for the 15 minutes of record hiss on delerium cordia.

favorite album is easily disco volante. I'd never had a cd scare the crap out of me before I heard the end of ma meeshka mow skwoz the first time!
the only disappointing album I can think of was the melvins/fantomas big band live disc, but that was a quality problem, not a music problem. I guess I was also kind of annoyed I couldn't make out more of mikey's contribution to medulla.

someone else said album of the year was their favorite from FNM, and I totally agree with that! under-fucking-rated.

mr johnfrancis why is this the first time i see this forum topic!!!!???!?!?! well...here are my opinions,

MIKE PATTON IS AMAZING

it is so hard for me to say a favorite album/ project....but i will say this (remind you i am thinking that i am the biggest patton fan on the site)

FAVORITE PROJECT: MR BUNGLE

FAVORITE ALBUM: hmmm hard to decide but i will go with "Angeldust" by FNM OR "Mit Gas" by Tomahawk

WHO I WANT HIM TO COLLABORATE WITH: ME!

LEAST FAVORITE PROJECT: I am honestly not that much into Adult themes for voice by Patton, but i love it, i just dont consider it my favorite

As for the great story meeting him, hehe, it will occur after you, me, ambrosia, and gang go see him with the illustrious JOHN ZORN and FRED FIRTH on April 7th....YAY SO EXCITED

and yes you kinda sounded like a 6th grader, but who cares, MIKE PATTON IS AMAZING AND YOU ROCK FOR POSTING THIS FORUM TOPIC!!!!!

I really like Adult Themes For Voice, although I must admit it was an aquired tast.

My favorite project in certainly Mr. Bungle, ever since my brother turned me on to them shortly after the first LP was released...which is still my favorite Patton album. My second favorite would have to be a tie between California and The Real Thing.

By the way...

If anyone's interested (and you damn sure better be!!) you can check out a video of Fantomas playing a show in...Sweden (I think?)...at drummerwold. Great closeups of Patton as well as uberdrummer and Frank Zappa alumnus, Terry Bozzio.

Oops...make that Switzerland, not Sweden...

MR: Patton is a wierd guy...

I like Tomahawk, and Fantomas... of his projects.

I was on a Tomahawk concert in Oslo a tree years ago, then Patton insisted that on of the norwegian auience had to come up on the stage, and puke on his face. He wanted to be puked at from a viking. MR. Patton got his wish fullfilled, there was a norwegian viking puking on mr patton, who was wearing a black cop uniform. After the puking they finished the concert like nothing happend.... strange guy,

bungle's as good as it gets. i took a class in cold food from his uncle in portland, or: strong argument for beautiful freakiness as genetic trait...
