The old stuff is pretty damn good, eh?

Pulled out my old LP copy of Floodland from my collection and after maybe two years of not listening to it, and I must admit that it´s a good album. Very nostalgic for me, to be honest. The songs themselves are very simple but the arrangements make them sound huge, maybe a bit like Iggy Pop playing live at the Red Square in Moscow. Gotta love that.

To behonest though, almost everything they (or Eldritch) did after Floodland has been a total fucking abortion. Under The Gun? Oh fuck off.

Floodland will always be the most played CD of his in my collection. Although I find myself listening to The Sisterhood Gift CD now and then. It's his fucking ego and bullshit attitude that I always had a hard time dealing with. Which is why I always made sure to buy his CDs used... to make sure he never got a penny of my money.

Yeah, from all I´ve heard, Andrew is an egomaniac speedfreak cunt. Didn´t bother to go see them here at a metal festival two years ago, rather stayed at a REAL goth festival elsewhere on the same weekend. Not so surprisingly, they sucked.

My rarest TSOM vinyl, besides some of the old 12" singles, might be the 2LP version of Some Girls Wonder By Mistake. I read somewhere that there´s only one pressing on vinyl and I´ve only seen maybe two other copies besides my own.

You folks like The Mission? The early stuff is pure gold and Wayne Hussey is a great songwriter even though some of his lyrics are occasionally hippie D&D stuff...

Believe it or not, I'm actually not real familiar with The Mission. I've heard OF them, and might recognize a few tunes by them, but that's about the extent of it. As far as bands who have a certain fame for being SoM soundalikes, The Merry Thoughts were always my favorite.

The first Mission albums are good. You might also want to check out their 2CD anthology that was released a few years ago. Tons of good stuff on that one.

As for Sisters copyists... Fuck em. The only good one was Rosetta Stone before they "went industrial". The rest can disappear for all I care.

I'll have to check those out. Probably they end up on my Amazon wishlist... as if it weren't a mile long already. *lol*

As for Rosettastone, it's funny but I never actually thought of them as being a SoM band. I've always loved their music. Chemical Emissions, Adrenaline and Hiding in Waiting STILL get a shitload of play time in my car.
