It's ok so far, and it deffinitely has tons of potential, I'm watching it but not holding my expectations too high. I don't like that the Japanese character's such a stereotype dork(especially since he's a stereotypical american dork) and I feel that that actor has been typecast as that kind of person. Even tho he's also the most interesting character to me with potentially the strongest power. I also like what they're doing with the telepathic cop, I'm really intrigued as to where that storyline's going. The show's kinda drowning in references tho, one of the character's being named isaac, mentioning the names Smith and Anderson in the same breath. And also, if it's got such an international cast of characters, why are there only two who aren't actually from America, and they're both Asian. Wow, I guess I had more to say about it than I thought. Sorry |

I agree about Hiro fitting the asian stereotype. i couldn't believe the way that the second episode ended though. i am geeking out i love the show so much. my favorite character though is the blonde girl with the son. i can't wait to see what happens with her.

Raven said:Actually, I think the heroine shooting, future predicting artist was my favorite so far. Although I think they just killed him off. Typical. And yeah, there's some really stereotyping involved so far. Hopefully the series will last long enough for the show to have time to grow to it's potential.
This is one of only two characters I don't like(the other being the whiny, self important spoiled rich kid nurse, his brother's much more interesting) and, to me, is the most stereotypical character in the show. |

I almost forgot about her. Yeah, should be really interesting to see how they explain what her "ability" is and how she does it. |

I just don't get how they are all older then all of the sudden one day BAM they can fly. Ah well, I'll catch the next one and maybe figure it out. It did catch my attention, that's rare. So much crap on TV these days.
Yeah, the guy who "tried" to commit suicide. He's the politicians younger brother. And he didn't actually try to commit suicide. He thought he could fly. Turns out it's his brother the politician that can fly. It looks like the younger brothers ability is that he seems to gain the powers of the others when he gets close to them. Like when he jumped off the building. He couldn't fly until his brother flew up to save him from falling... then he could fly when his brother caught him in mid air. Same with the most recent episode that you missed. When he got close to the heroine addict that could paint the future, he suddenly gained the ability to finish one of those future predicting paintings that the addict hadn't finished yet. He's like what Rogue was to the X-Men. Same type of power. Hopefully I didn't just confuse the hell out of you with all that.
That's something that I noticed too and didn't like in the story line. How they all seemed to be coming into their "powers" at the same time. That seemed like kind of an annoying flaw in the story line. Although what Laputa had to say about that helps make more sense. I'd just never noticed until she said something that they have been giving hints throughout all the episodes that these people didn't just get their powers all at once. It's been happening over the course of years. |

The one flaw I've seen is the cheerleader. First she's indestructible; if she wasn't then why didn't she splat and split apart when she threw herself off the walkway/platform. She walks through fire with nary a burn or a singed hair. Then a stick impales her head? Then, when it is pulled out, it regenerates and she gets up from autopsy table.
Is she indestructible or a re-generator? Is it just her flesh that indestructible and regenerative (she seems to dislocate bones an awful lot)? Does she feel pain from injuries?
I think her character was not thought through enough, and it's Jeff Loeb writing? Fer-shame on him.
Their powers blossoming had something to do with the eclipse in the first show. It triggered something in them.
NBC.com has an online comic book that is updated every Monday after the show airs on the west coast. It delves a bit more into where the show left off. Like when the cheerleader crashed the car, the comic tells of her pulling the guy out of it. It is also drawn and written by some of the best in comics: Michael Turner, Randy Queen, etc., etc.
