Growing up in Boston,I follow alot of sports,(even when pissed at the Sox, it's engrained in me to hate yankees, Irish in me loves the Celtics, and Football is such a pasion, I saw the Patriots when they sucked and couldn't sell out much more than home opener)

BUT....HOCKEY IS IN THE BLOOD!!!!! (or at least blood i shed!)

Earliest memory was at age 4 or so going to the old Boston Garden and seeing the BRUINS! play against the Rangers (yes, 30 years later I remember who they played) That great old stadium, where you were right over the ice in the balconies, and the buzz and electricity was almost narcotic to a toddler, and When I went back to see the B's in Dec after Katrina, I HATED watching it at the "NEW "garden, it was so sterile...it is actually better to watch at home now then to see it live

I lost one of my most prized possesions when my #8 Neely Jersey was lost, and I have a blank B's Jersey now, but after all the recent trades (THEY GOT RID OF THORTON FOR CRISSAKES) I actually would never get a name or # on one now...unless i get the "3rd" jersey (it's a throwback from the 70's with the ties at the neck)...then ya HAVE to get #4 on it!

LOVE HOCKEY TALK....KEEP IT GOING!!!!!!

I live with a bunch of hippies, so we don't like or watch sports.
But I like to tune into hockey, because occasionally they beat the shit out of each other. And I dig violence. So much for being a good hippie.

Where are these people getting the impression that hockey is violent?
