Watched She Creature (sic!) tonight on tv. It was an entertaining B-movie about some carnival folks trying to smuggle a captured mermaid to America in 1906. Of course, stuff starts happening and people end up dead.

i saw that a while ago and it was pretty badass

i just watched walk the line tonight (yeah i'm a little behind, but i'm too broke to go to the theater)
holy shit! that movie rules. that juaquine dude got cash's voice pretty good. witherspoon did june's voice fuckin awesome. and it was all around a great storyline and a badass movie. and shooter jennings plays waylon. it's great. i give it 4 outta 4 cold beers.
It is a great film. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it.

I watched it again last night along with Domino which I also recommend.

Okay, I'm trying to watch th Godfather (from Netflix) but the disc is scratched and quits playing when Michael Corleone goes to the resteraunt to kill the two police detectives. I report the disc as damaged and Netflix has a replacement out to me practically the day I send the bad one back. I'll be damned, but this disc is also scratched up and quits playing at nearly the same spot. Grrrrr.....

So, since I couldn't watch that, I watched My Neighbor Totoro and two episodes of Firefly.

i just watched Walk The Line
decent movie
not great

i think i was most impressed that Phoenix and Witherspoon sang the songs themselves
and
i dont really see why Reese got an Academy Award for this
she was good - not annoying
but not spectacular

all the acting was solid though

good flick

I watched Cannibal Ferox this morning, and I have to say, Cannibal Holocaust was a LOT better.

It started out panning views of NYC with this really cheesy 70s sitcom theme song-sounding music. Then it would go to scenes in the jungle with this creepy music, then back to panning NYC with that cheesy music. The soundtrack annoyed me. There were two semi-intertwining plots that weren't really that interesting. This definitely wasn't as serious as CH. There's a scene where they hang a girl by her tits form meathooks; that was cool. She died too fast, though. There wasn't nearly as much gore in this one as there was in CH. I'm glad I bought CH and borrowed this one from a friend.

Last movie saw in theatres- Ultraviolet. It was alright. Visually it was interesting, and the fight choreography was pretty cool. THought the script was predictable, and the acting was pretty lame. Still, Milla wore a skimpy outfit, and even got naked (only from behind) so it was still worth seeing.
Last movies from Netflix- Ogazmo. Stupid, but certainly had it's funny moments. Ron Jeremy was funny.
also an old movie "Something Wicked This Way Comes" with Jonathon Price. It was interesting. Scary circus folk. Based on a Ray Bradbury story. Similar to Stephen King's Needful Things. Guy comes to small town grants wishes, but in a bad way (like the old woman who wants to be young and beautiful again, she gets her wish but goes blind).

I just saw The Hills Have Eyes in theatre, and I REALLY liked it. Good gore, pretty suspenseful though the plot was fairly easy to guess at times, of course the ending left open for a sequel, but that's nothing new. I'll buy it when it comes out.

The previews for that freaked me out a bit. Mainly the deformed little girl saying "Mister will you come play with us?"

I went to see it today with my dad and boyfriend cuz nothing else seemed worthwhile. I was surprised how good it was. I really LOVE gore and FUCKED UP killing shit. I just thought it was fun to watch. My bf thought it was way too over the top. It was crazy insane but I liked it. It doesn't require much thinking which is nice No road trips cutting thru the desert for me though!

That same thing freaked me out. I can't watch the trailer because of that part. Just something about it.
