I suppose no one would take me serious if I suggested free lap dances.

Basically, it is what you make it to be.
Before I start doing alt/fetish modeling, alot of people said don't do it, you'll never get out of that. Yet, I have done plenty of other work non nude and non alt. People are always going to say don't do this and that because it will mess up your career.. etc. etc. etc. My advice is do your own thing, at the end of the day it is up to you.
Stripping/Pole Dancing is becoming more and more popular, it was even on Orpah and Tyra. It is not really a big taboo anymore. There are even pole dancing classes now a days, thus showing that stripping is starting to blend into the American society.
I can go on and on about stripping... But I honestly feel that I would be wasting my breathe (if I haven't already).
The last thing I will say about it is... Dita Von Tesse and Diablo Coby started out as just strippers as well.

Agreed. If you want to make decent tips, try bartending at a night club- most places will train you and you don't need to spend money on bartending school. Stripping is good quick money (but not "easy" money, because it comes with a lot of baggage physically and emotionally), but it's one of the hardest jobs to quit, because it can suck you in so easily (believe me, I did it for about 8 years, and tried quitting quite a few times. Took getting pregnant and ditching all my clothes and shoes to make me not go back this time around). I could go on and on. When I was younger, I would defend it and tell people to go for it, but now, my advice to anyone is "run away from the thought and don't look back". It's not the glamorous world people think it is when they first start out- I've seen it ruin girls with the toughest skin....

Feel free to show me your moves anytime. What??? That is def. not true. I have been turned down many times because I wasn't curvy enough. Unless it is a really upscale place, they dont really care about heavily tattooed girls. I just looked at where you live. I live in NYC, people are more opened minded here. Maybe that is why your having a hard time.
Yeahhhhh.. Strip clubs are totally different out here. The lap dance barely exists and men can't touch strippers under any circumstance. All of the clubs out here that I've been to are 90% skin and bone dancers and I only know one dancer off of the top of my head that has more than a tramp stamp or ankle dolphin.

I agree more with you. I've stripped twice before- just for a few months at a time. Its kind of a fall back way to make my car payment if things aren't working out otherwise. I honestly miss it a little now, but much prefer my current job situation. I never got "sucked in" I guess. Didn't hang out with the girls I worked with, went in at the beginning of my shift, hustled my ass off, tipped out, and went home. Treated it like I would any other job. When I was done, I just quit and left. Just is different for everyone. I've worked at decent clubs where no customer touched me and if they tried, I'd just find another customer to hustle.

Exactly...
And yes. People have different experiences with it. I'm honestly trying to figure out what is this sucked in position. Like you would be sucked into being a stripper forever? That depends on the person. I know many people who is sucked into retail doing nothing with their lives but be in a high school like job for 6 years making 6 bucks an hr.
But one thing I do like about everyone's different opinions in this thread is that it cleary shows that stripping is not this perfect glamourous job that people try to live it up to be.

Eden said:So I am seriously considering striping.. any advice for a newbie?
Stripping is what you make of it. I stripped for a long time, I waitressed at a strip club for a long time. I made good money at both but I had a look that no one else did and that helped out a lot. I have worked at places that care about their girls and those that don't. Obviously go for the ones that care. That helps a lot too. Most of these places have an amature night. If you want you should try that first. It gives you an idea of the club before you work there plus helps you get over the akwardness of stripping. After doing that for a few times if you still feel comfortable then go ahead. My best advice would be that if you decide to strip do it for you, not the money. If you do it for you it's always easy to stop, if you do for anything else it's a whole lot harder. I don't regret stripping. However, I wouldn't do it again either, unless it was for husband or in front of a mirror by myself.
